9:00 a.m. Start (The event will take place regardless of rain)
Check-in Participants must check in during the following time:
Friday, Feb. 16 10:00 - 20:00 (tentative)
Saturday, Feb. 17 10:00 - 20:00 (tentative)
Venue: Karashima Park (tentative)
※No check-in on the event day (Sunday, Feb. 18)
※No check-in before and after the above-mentioned time
※ID required for check-in (Proxy check-in not accepted)
Registration Applications will be accepted on the Internet ( https://kumamotojyo-marathon.jp/ ) between 10:00 on July 31, 2017 (Monday) and 17:00 on September 15, 2017 (Friday)
※A party of 2 to 5 members is eligible for group entry.
※An applicant (individual or group) may not submit more than one application. Applicants with multiple applications will be disqualified.
※Participants will be chosen by lottery if an excessive number of runners have applied.
※From this year, successful applicants are required to pay 500 yen in system usage fee addtionally when paying entry fee.

Course & Details

Around-Historic-Sites Full Marathon
(officially recognized and supported by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, JAAF)

Time Limit 7 hours
Maximum Number of Participants 12,000 runners
Eligibility Those aged 18 old or older on the day of the race, and those men and women who can run the whole distance within 6 hours and 40 minutes . (High school students are not allowed.)
Entry Fee 10,000 yen

Kanakuri Memorial 30-Kilometer Road Race
(Co-hosted by the Kyushu Athletics Association, supported by the JAAF)(Officially recognized by JAAF)

Time Limit Must pass the 28.3 km checkpoint by 10:58 a.m.
Maximum Number of Participants 150 runners
Eligibility Those born on and before April 1, 1999 and are registered with the JAAF (High school students are not allowed.)
Entry Fee 5,000 yen

Reconstruction Challenge Fun Run
※The event has been changed from the "Castle Town 4 Kilometers" to the "Reconstruction Challenge Fun Run" from this time.

Time Limit 1 hours and 15 minutes
Maximum Number of Participants 1,500 runners
Eligibility Junior high school students or older
Entry Fee 3,000 yen
  1. ※1 Clocking(for the time limits) begins at the bang of starter pistol
  2. ※2 Considering traffic security and event operation, check-point closing times will be set for the "Around-Historic-Sites Full Marathon" and the " Kanakuri Memorial 30 km Race". Also, runners can be stopped at locations other then check points if they significantly delay or if the organizer judges they will affect the lifting of traffic restrictions.
  3. ※3 If runners significantly lag behind in the "Reconstruction Challenge Fun Run" (not able to pass the point in front of Karashima Park by 9:45 a.m.), the organizer will stop them and lift traffic regulations at 10:00 a.m.
  4. ※4 ※From this year, successful applicants are required to pay 500 yen in system usage fee addtionally when paying entry fee.
